As I checked my earnings today, I went to a site I hadn't went to in a long time and guess what i see. (A credit of 2500 dollars in my advance cash rewards) I was happy to see this because I didn't really promote Self Bank Mobile's affiliate program. Now I wish I would have.

But neways, back to the story I was telling. So I call my relatives and tell them to sign up and tell everybody else they know to sign up with me as the referrer. At a 100 dollars a referral, I was happy I checked out this account before the pre-launch was over. When the pre-launch is over, Self Bank Mobile is no longer free. The money that you earn in the pre-launch stage can be spent at the merchants of Self bank when the company launches.

For those whom don't know what Self Bank Mobile is. They are the world's first mobile social commerce engine, which mean you can use your cell phone or smart phone as your credit card. You can do all your shopping, banking, and business transaction with this program. They have alot of big merchants involve in this company. This is the future of banking.

To be truthfully, I didn't get involve with this company because its the future. At first, i didnt even know what it was about. I was looking at the money involved. Then I researched it and found out, it wasn't a bad thing to be involved in.

Respect in Business as A Teen

Posted by Ricky Shaw | 10:09 PM | | 0 comments »

As I walked into the office of a local business in my area, I noticed some funny looks. I was wondering was there something on my face or something. I had a important meeting with a local business owner as a part of my offline business that Ive just put together for the New Year.

As I shook the owners hand and introduced myself as the person he just talked to on the phone. He looked confused and said he thought I was older. I went on with my proposal smoothly but it seemed he was not convinced. Was it because of my age? He said he would get back to me but never did.

I was really down for this for a while but moved on to the next business. That's all you can really do. You have to face the reality that some business aren't going to trust you with their money because of your age.
Alot of older people think that you don't know what you're doing because you're young, but I learned to prove them wrong by showing them you know what you're talking about inside and out. I don't give them room to catch me in a mistake.

Also a BIG issue is DON'T LET THEM KNOW YOU'RE NERVOUS. I also learned not be discouraged, just move on to the next thing. As a teenager don't think it won't happen to you because it usually does and when it does just be ready. As for the older people reading this, no disrespect. I just feel yall should give us more credit than yall do. We are the next generation and I feel you should help us and guide us for the future.

Don't Let Your Surrounding Bring You Down

Posted by Ricky Shaw | 7:16 PM | | 0 comments »

Today I was reading through one of the my favorite blogs (John Chow's) and I read his post titled "Guilty by association" in which he goes on about him being put out his old office building because of being associated or knowing a drug dealer even though he wasn't one himself.

As you read this, you're probably think what does this have to do with being a entrepreneur or business. Well let me explain to you. A lot of people don't know that your friends or associates can bring you down in the business world if you put yourself around the wrong crowd.

Me myself have a real problem with this. I'm a 19 year entrepreneur/college student and i have many friends that try to discourage me about a lot projects and business plans i have but when I actually start making money they want me to show them how.

These type of people I like to separate myself from because they want me to do all the work and receive the benefits of my hard work which in the end will bring me down. I'm not saying if you're friend is willing to learn your business and work hard, don't teach them. I saying if that friend is just a user and doesn't have the same desire and drive to be successful that you do then let them go. You don't want anybody just leeching off you.

It is sometimes said that you are the average of the five people you hang out with most. Take a look at your five closest friends. If they are not where you want to be, then it may be time to find five new people who are. This might sound cruel but look at it this way, If you and your friends used to party and drink all the time and you have changed your life to cope with your business and love life but your friends never grew up. What are you going to do ? Keep partying or Move on?

The whole scenario of this post was to inform you that just hanging around people that believe in what you're doing and can relate to you can take you a long way. It is said that Success is a team effort. Nobody can do it alone. With that being said, Don't let anyone bring you discourage you from your dreams.

Action + Focus = Sucess

During the Christmas Holiday, I noticed that I had a hard time focusing on my business ventures with all the chaos going on.

I usually can get a lot of things done by remembering what task i have to do but when you have many projects you're working on you can get caught up. I have a bulletin board where i write things that need to be done but I don't put a deadline on them and I end up dragging the task out.

Then I read a post from one of the blogs i keep up with called 365hustle.com which gave me a good tip about writing in my notebook a 7 day plan by dating at the top of the page and crossing out the task as you finish them. Your goal is to finish the list by the end of the week deadline.I acted on this tip and figured out quickly that it works and helps gets things done. It helps me focus on the task I have at hand and not just doing whatever.

Along with that tip, I have a way to get tasks done and focus and that's by designating time during the week when you can work and take away all distractions and just work on your projects. This can work with Online or Offline Businesses but especially online because you can get caught up with reading emails and chatting where you waste time and not get any work done. Just turn off your tvs and set your cellphone aside for a hour and get some work done and you will see the difference it will make.

New Beginnings...

Posted by Ricky Shaw | 5:14 PM | 0 comments »

I started this blog to inform people about my journey and encounters of making money as an young entrepreneur. This blog will contain many types of ways to make money going into this new year, whether they are online and offline.

I wanted teens especially to know that there is more to the internet than surfing, or checking your Facebook and Myspace. There is money to be made which should open up a lot of people's eyes. I know internet marketing has been around a long time but the opportunity to make a lot of money is really out there. It just depends on if you are willing to work to make it.

There are 14 year old teens making a 100 thousand dollars online and the first thing that comes to mind to the average person is "Oh then, this should be easy if a 14 year old can do it" but its not. But i didnt write this post to encourage you to make money online.

I wrote this post to share with you about this great beginning of a new blog and if you stick around we can make this New Year, a properous year by putting extra money in your pockets.

Thanks
